Second Swan 88 sailing yacht launched a week after sistership

Finnish shipyard Nautor Swan's second sailing yacht has hit the water a week after her sistership, DreamCatcher. She is expected to be delivered to her owner in June 2024, according to BOATPro.

The second hull of the 26.5-metre Swan 88 series has been specified with performance options like a high modulus mast, square top mainsail and winch upgrades.

Exterior styling is by Lucio Micheletti while Misa Poggi has styled the interiors, which are currently under wraps. German Frers is responsible for naval architecture.

At the heart of the design is the main deck, which is separated into four defined areas. The first is the guest cockpit, which has been installed with a "newly evolved" coachroof design that features an integrated sprayhood, Bimini and modular benches. The latter allows for flexible arrangements, including formal dining setups and casual lounge spaces.

Meanwhile, a brand new beach club arrangement is located at the stern, benefitting from direct water access and a tender garage. Forward of the mast is the fourth area, known as a "sunset lounge".

"The series presents a super-smart opportunity for owners to reduce running costs by chartering, [as] this design cleverly satisfies the critical 24-metre load line length rule," explained a spokesperson for the yard. "Nautor Swan’s decision to develop this vessel stems from the aim to offer a true performance superyacht based on an efficient platform, minimising management costs and simplifying the charter certification process."

According to BOATPro, Nautor Swan has four yachts currently under construction. This includes the second unit in its Swan 108 series, the first of which, Fancy, was the subject of a BOAT International yacht report.
