And now for the good news. Salperton, the 44m fast cruising sloop, was sold yesterday. James Troup of Dubois Yachts was involved in the sale to a South East Florida yachtsman whose previous yacht burned out in Antigua a year ago. Built by New Zealand’s Fitzroy Yachts in 2007 to an Ed Dubois design, Salperton has a warm, contemporary interior by Adam Lay with a clean and crisp joinery style. She accommodates eight guests in a full width owner’s cabin plus two doubles. A further twin cabin, currently used as a gymnasium, has two Pullman berths and a fixed berth. Her range under power is 4,400 nautical miles at 10 knots.
