MCP Yachts has announced the signing of a new 42.5m motor yacht.

The Hemisphere 140 will be the largest semi-displacement all-aluminium yacht to be built in South America to date. Her naval architecture was developed with Vripack, whilst her exterior and interior design are by the in-house team at MCP. Being built to Lloyds class and MCA compliant, this trideck superyacht will accommodate 10 guests in a master and four double cabins. Her twin 1825 hp Caterpillar C-32 engines will give her a top speed of 19 knots.

The aluminum plates for the first Hemisphere 140 are scheduled to be plasma cut in June/July, with an expected launch at the end of 2012.
