Primadonna

Inaugural launches are always exciting moments for shipyards, and so it was a few days ago at the Chinese yard IAG Yachts when they launched Primadonna, a project started in 2008.

Built in fibreglass, Primadonna is the first hull from their IAG 127 series. Italian-based YD & AS were responsible for both her exterior and interior design. RINA classed and MCA compliant, she accommodates 12 guests in a main deck master, two double and two twin cabins (plus two pullmans). From a technical standpoint, she's powered by twin Caterpillar C-32 Acert of 1800hp giving a maximum speed of 17 knots, a cruise speed of 14 knots and a range of 3,000 nautical miles at 10 knots.

Primadonna is now undergoing sea trials, before being transported to the USA where she will be presented at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in October.

Three other hulls from the IAG 127 series are also under construction at IAG Yachts.
