Sea Diamond: yacht sold by Northrop & Johnson and Ardell
Here’s another 2012 sale as a call to Northrop & Johnson confirms that John Weller found a buyer for the 27.4m sailing yacht Sea Diamond, listed by Tom Corkett at Ardell.
Built by Abeking & Rasmussen in 1956 and designed by Philip Rhodes, she boasts an excellent pedigree and has been well cared for.
Between 2001 and 2004 Sea Diamond underwent a major interior and systems refit at a cost of $6 million. Her entire interior was completely stripped down to the bare hull and a new interior was built from scratch. The end result was a masterpiece of woodwork.
At the same time, the entire teak deck and sub-decking were replaced. Also during this refit period, complete new AC and DC electrical systems were installed, including all new pumps, air conditioning, and galley appliances.
In 2009 new Sitka Spruce masts and booms were built, along with new custom fabricated metal mast hardware. In 2010 the entire interior was redecorated with fresh fabrics and soft furnishings.
Sea Diamond was asking $4.5 million. For more information contact:
