Asia Superyacht Rendezvous underway in Thailand with 10 megayachts in attendance

The 2013 Asia Superyacht Rendezvous is taking place in Thailand with 10 motor and sailing superyachts enjoying the warm waters and beautiful vistas of the Andaman Sea.

The 13th annual superyacht event, hosted in Phuket, Thailand, from 16 to 18 December, is sponsored by Boat International Media, Feadship, Asia Pacific Superyachts and Kata Rocks, this year's new host sponsor. The Asia Superyacht Rendezvous fleet are anchored in Kata Bay off of the award-winning luxury development of Kata Rocks, which offers first-class accommodation, entertainment and cuisine, and will be a luxurious host venue for social events during the Rendezvous.

The Rendezvous began 16 December with a traditional Yacht Hop aboard 36m sailing superyacht Yankee Too and 33m classic motor yacht Maid Marian II. Other luxury yachts in attendance at the Asia Superyacht Rendezvous include 34m Argo, 42m Maverick, 41m Moonsand, 33.05m Shamoun, 38m Schooner Sunshine, 30m Capricorn, 25m Intrigue, and 50m Sapphire.

The Asia Superyacht Rendezvous continues with an action-packed on-the-water and shoreside sailing and social events programme. Today there are races, followed by the annual model boat building competition hosted by Principal Sponsor Feadship. On 18 December, there will be another racing event, a yacht parade, an Asia Superyacht ‘Rendezvous Booty’ treasure hunt, and an exclusive gala dinner for superyacht owners and their guests.
