News from Camper & Nicholsons that Fernando Nicholson has sold the 73.5m expedition yacht aptly named Giant in an in-house deal.

Originally built by Holland's IHC yard in 1974 as an icebreaker, she was converted into a luxury yacht in 2002 during an extensive rebuild. The work involved a complete replacement of the interior, new plumbing, new electronics, engines and generators. A true go anywhere, adventure-ready yacht, Giant's icebreaker hull enables her to travel anywhere in the world, including the polar regions. Twin 3,400hp Smit Bolnes engines give her a terrific range of over 12,000 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 14.5 knots.

Accommodation is for no less than 24 guests in 12 staterooms. The huge master suite has a king size bed, settee, bar and his and hers bathrooms with shower and Jacuzzi tub. There are a further eight double staterooms with queen sized beds and three twin cabins, all with en suite bathroom facilities. Further attractions include a gymnasium and media room.

Giant was asking $19.7 million.
