Exclusive: Couach launches second 5000 Fly superyacht Belongers

French superyacht builder Couach has launched hull No 2 in its 5000 Fly motor yacht range.

The launch of the new 49.9m mega yacht Belongers comes just two years after the launch of the first 5000 Fly, La Pellegrina. Couach is responsible for the build, naval architecture and exterior design of the grey-hulled composite yacht.

While the new Couach 5000 Fly superyacht shares the same primary specifications, the semi-custom yacht stands out from her predecessor in myriad ways thanks to the brief of her very hands-on owner. First, the owner requested that the yacht's upper deck be extended over the main aft deck for additional outdoor entertaining space. With the new configuration, hull No 2 of the 5000 Fly can accommodate 14 guests on the sun deck for al fresco dining. Part of the enclosed sun deck also hosts an office for the owner. Also per the owner's brief, the bridge canopy has been extended to create a 100 sqm private area on the flybridge deck.

Also differing from her sister, hull No 2 accommodates guests in five staterooms. The bridge deck VIP stateroom found on La Pellegrina is a now a skylounge on Belongers. The interior design of the new 5000 Fly superyacht was designed by Couach and the owner's wife, with interior appointments by Metrica. Couach paid extra attention to reduction of noise and vibration levels in its new launch, conducting advanced acoustic studies and research and reviewing building processes to create extremely quiet living spaces in the latest 5000 Fly.

The Couach 5000 Fly is powered by twin 5,226 MTU engines, predicted to provide a top speed of 28 knots and a cruise speed of 24 knots and to deliver a transatlantic-capable range of 2,200 nautical miles at 12 knots. Sea trials will commence presently after her launch, and the new superyacht is scheduled for a delivery this summer.
