The 44.7 metre fast sailing yacht Mari-Cha III, jointly listed for sale by  Bernard Gallay Yacht Brokerage and Burgess, is hosting an open day and sea trials on Wednesday October 28 in Palma de Mallorca.

The day begins with viewings and canapés from 9am until 1:30pm when sea trials take place in the Bay of Palma until 3pm, creating a perfect opportunity to enjoy the yacht’s performance.

ABS classed, she was built in GRP by New Zealand’s Sensation Yachts to a design by French designer Phillipe Briand and launched in 1997 as one of the fastest sailing superyachts in her class. This award-winning and record-breaking yacht was originally conceived as a hybrid high performance cruising yacht, with a lavish interior so that her owner could enjoy fast, comfortable and safe cruising while entertaining his guests in style and luxury. Notably, this yacht for sale is the largest performance yacht to be sailed entirely by hand without relying on the powered systems usually employed on yachts of this size.

Mari-Cha III has a John Munford designed interior that combines classic elegance with a light and breezy feel, providing very spacious accommodation for eight guests in a large master cabin with en suite facilities, a double and a twin cabin, both with bathrooms en suite, along with a smaller cabin with upper and lower berths.

To this day she is regarded as one of the fastest ‘super sailers’ afloat and still turns heads at any anchorage, with her sleek hull and huge carbon ketch rig. Under power, a Caterpillar 600hp engine gives her a cruising speed of 12 knots and a range of 2,500 nautical miles at 10 knots.

Mari-Cha III is asking $8,950,000.
