Heikki Luoma at Compass International tells me that his listing for sale, the 69m explorer yacht Sarsen, is sold with Simon Turner at Northrop & Johnson acting for the buyer.

Delivered in 1970, Sarsen was built as a North Atlantic survey vessel, purpose-built for Polar exploration.

She was converted into a charter vessel in 2006. The stern was altered to incorporate a landing platform, a small swimming pool and large outdoor dining area with barbecue facilities. The research laboratories became an elegant dining room with a surround-sound music system. The upper deck was transformed into a luxurious TV room with large screen plasma and surround-sound.

Six fully air-conditioned guest suites accommodate 12 guests. The master stateroom features a large en suite bathroom, queen sized bed and owner’s lounge with leather sofas. The guest cabins with en suite bathrooms feature comfortable double beds with innerspring mattresses and wi-fi access points and phones.

Sarsen was asking $7 million.
