New Henry Ward Designs superyacht tender to be built at Cockwells

Henry Ward Design has penned a cool new runabout that will look right at home in the tender garage of a superyacht.

The 6.5m 650SR (Sport Runabout) yacht tender has been designed asymmetrically, with a sweeping windscreen ending at different points along the deck and beautiful teak decks arcing back in line with the shapely hull. Cornish boatbuilder Cockwells, well known for producing high-quality tenders and weekenders, has been lined up to produce the runabout.

The design has put the focus on fun for the driver, with a 155hp jet drive offering electric acceleration and a slippery, shallow-draught hull promising a hold-on-tight driving experience. She is expected to top out at 34 knots.

Guests are in for a treat, too, with the driver able to edge the boat into the shallowest bays, and a Fusion stereo system to keep everyone entertained on the beach. Then, to relax, retract the helm seats to turn them into sunpads and dig out the champagne in the refrigerated locker, complete with custom glassware. The Henry Ward-designed Cockwells 650SR will sell for £120,000 including VAT.
