Heesen motor yacht Galactica sold

The 50 metre motor yacht Galactica, listed for sale by Yachtzoo, has been sold in an in-house deal and renamed Red Sapphire.

ABS classed and MCA compliant, she was built in aluminium by Dutch Yard Heesen Yachts to a design by Omega Architects and Galactica was launched in 2007 with refits in 2010 and 2014. She was designed and built as a full custom yacht and, following several design studies, it was decided to incorporate continuous windows on either side of the owner’s suite, rather than the oval windows of the Heesen 47 metre series.

The original clients’ requirements were very strong with regards to al fresco entertaining and dining on the sundeck of this superyacht. Thus, with seating for up to 14 guests, there is generous sun and wind protection. All through the yacht there are several ways in which materials and finishes alternate: gloss and satin joinery, light and dark woods plus plain and textured fabrics. These contrasts are used in order to create a more lively effect.

Accommodation is for 12 guests in six cabins. The master suite is very private, accessible only through the library/cinema room. An exclusive feature in the owner’s bathroom is not the usual marble, but precious stone in honey onyx and details in dark honey onyx throughout the flooring, walls, bath and wash basin. The VIP suite has a king sized bed and there are two queen doubles to port and starboard while forward are two twin cabins that can convert into queen doubles. All guest cabins have full en suite facilities in grey marble.

Located in Tivat, Montenegro, Galactica was asking €19.5 million.
