Project Akoya boasts naval architecture by Heesen and  Van Oossanen. A streamlined, efficient hull design helps reduce power requirements and fuel consumption.

Powered by the latest MTU 16V 400 M73L engines, Project Akoya will hit a top speed of 23 knots and have a range of 3,100 nautical miles cruising at 11 knots.

Project Akoya is Heesen's fifth semi-displacement 50 metre series superyacht. Her sistership is the World Superyacht Award-winning, very Zen superyacht Satori, now named Septimus. The most recent arrival in the series was Monaco Wolf, launched in April 2014.

The exterior, penned by Frank Laupman of Omega Architects, is streamlined with a distinctive curved superstructure. Project Akoya will be notable for her ample outdoor entertaining spaces, including a 70 sqm sun deck.

Italian designer  Cristiano Gatto is responsible for the classy interior design, which utilises three main materials: teak, stainless steel and leather. The main saloon and sky lounge have a distinctly art deco influence with 1930s inspired furniture.

With a nine metre beam and a gross tonnage just under the 500 gross tonne mark at 499GT, Project Akoya boasts spacious interiors. She will welcome 12 guests, with accommodation split between a full-beam, main deck owner’s stateroom with a study, full-beam VIP, two double and two twin cabins.
