The classic 33 metre sailing yacht Blue C 1, listed for sale by Heikki Luoma at Compass International, has been sold in an in-house deal.

Built by FEAB Marstrandsverken in Sweden with a steel hull and a steel and teak superstructure with delivery in 1990, she was previously named Spirit of Hennessy and was used to promote the Hennessy cognac brand in China where she sailed in the late 1990s. She was extensively refitted in 2004 and is a three masted gaff rigged steel schooner with a mahogany interior sleeping as many as 14 guests in seven cabins consisting of a master suite and six twins, all with en suite shower facilities

Refitted and upgraded every year since her build, this yacht received a new jib and a new set of Elvstrom sails in 2010. To ensure that she is as self-sufficient as possible, she has a Honda emergency generator installed on deck with sufficient power to charge all emergency batteries an activate the bilge, fire and service pumps. To that end, too, she has vast storage areas and a range of large freezers, guaranteeing that she will not run out of supplies even on the longest journeys.

Under power, a 405hp Cummins engine – new in 2008 – gives her a range of 5,000 nautical miles at her cruising speed of 8 knots. The engine is serviced annually by a team of Cummins engineers.

Blue C 1 was asking €1.1 million.
