In honour of the 35th America's Cup competition, British watch company Bremont has added new chronograph Regatta timepieces to its collection. The concepts for both the new Regatta AC and the Regatta OTUSA models were developed through conversations with Oracle Team USA, who know how crucial countdown functionality is when racing.

Co-founder Giles English launched Bremont in 2002 with his brother Nick, with the intention of creating meticulously crafted pilot's watches, though the vision has now expanded across new landscapes, including adventure, military and sailing in addition to aviation.

The America's Cup Collection, which was initially launched in May 2015, now boasts 10 models inspired by and intended for keen yachtsmen. "As a British watch company we're really pleased we asked to be involved with the America's Cup and it's such an amazing event," says Giles English.

The Regatta OTUSA movements have been designed with a 15 minute numerical display countdown with a five minute start time and will be available in black and white dial movements with only 235 of each being produced. The watches, in keeping with the America's Cup theme, will have high-grade carbon fibre from the winning 2013 Oracle Team USA AC72 yacht incorporated into each of the crowns.

The more classically designed Regatta AC timepiece is available in either rose gold or hardened polished steel with a chic alligator leather strap. Both of the new models have a 12 hour counter and a date function and are water resistant up to 100 metres.

A limited edition Regatta AC timepiece is also available as of summer 2017. "The AC35 is one of our gold watches – we're only making 35 of those because it's the 35th America's Cup," says English. "We wanted it to be very special, something quite different. I really wanted this watch to be the pinnacle of what we created."

Inspired by the iconic J-Class yachts of the 1930s, the AC35 has an 18 carat rose gold case, while an integrated flat sapphire crystal back that allows you to see the stunning engraved double reverser bi-directional winding mechanism within.

"I think what we've done with the America's Cup Collection is really focus on what sailors need," English says. "They're modern in their techniques, in their design and they're very strong so you can properly go and use these watches."

Prices for the Bremont America's Cup Collection timepieces range from £2,895 to £14,695 and the limited edition AC35 is £16,995. Visit __bremont.com.
