CharterFleet goes global!
by Malcolm MacLean
It's that time of year when attention focuses on the charter market - the Antigua show is in full swing and brokers are releasing their annual charter guides - so I thought I would draw your attention to one of our newest publications, CharterFleet International, which features the finest yachts available for charter and the world’s most exciting cruising destinations.
I say newest, but it has been published annually since 1992 by ShowBoats International, and is highly regarded by brokerage houses who use it to market their fleets to clients. Our acquisition of ShowBoats last year means that it is now part of our portfolio and we are taking the opportunity to extend its reach globally: in addition to U.S. circulation beginning at the Miami International Boat Show in February, CharterFleet will be distributed by mail to all paid subscribers of Boat International, Mer & Bateaux in France and Meer & Yachten in Germany, as well as the top subscribers of Boat International Russia and Boat International China. We'll also be passing it out at all the major boat shows and our own events around the world, giving a total distribution of around 20,000, the largest of any publication of its kind.
The 2011 edition is being prepared as we speak, with a deadline of mid-January for entries. As in the past, brokerage houses can choose to have their own custom covers, and the entire publication also will be presented online at charterfleet.com. Marilyn Mower, part of ShowBoat’s original founding team and executive editor of CharterFleet for many years, returns to oversee the publication.
