20 October 2023 • Written by Katia Damborsky and Holly Margerrison

As the 2023 edition of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show prepares to return to the Sunshine State, brokerage firms are getting ready to showcase some of the best yachts for sale in their fleet. BOAT International spotlights some of the must-see second-hand yachts across the show's seven locations...

Berilda

Length: 47.1m
Builder: Feadship
Year:
2001

Berilda is one of the larger pre-loved vessels for sale at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show and joins the market following five refit and upgrade periods between 2020 and 2022. Her classic De Voogt Feadship-style exteriors complement a traditional interior by John Munford, comprising satin-finished mahogany panelling, "plush carpeting" and pale soft upholstery. Highlights include a big-screen television on the sundeck, where guests can watch TV from the sit-up wet bar or cool off in the Jacuzzi forward. Accommodation is for 14 guests in five cabins, the owner's suite having an en suite children's cabin as well as a study.

Berilda is asking $21,000,000 with BR Marine Group.

Dopamine

Length: 33.3m
Builder: Overmarine
Year:
2021

Dopamine is the second Mangusta GranSport 33 series and was commissioned by a young American owner. Purpose built for four Volvo Penta IPS pod drives, the yacht has a maximum speed of 25 knots – making quick work of a Miami-to-Bahamas trip. At two metres high, Dopamine's deckheads create a spacious interior with accommodation for 10 guests across five cabins. She also plays host to two al fresco dining areas: one of which is on the flybridge, sheltered beneath the hardtop, and the other on the foredeck, which can be shaded by an awning with a glass-fronted pool nearby.

Dopamine is asking $13,250,000 with Denison Yachting.

Book Ends

Length: 49.9m
Builder: Heesen
Year:
2022

Book Ends' sporty exterior is owed to Frank Laupman and the team at Omega Architects, who have given her a sharply tapered bow, distinctive bootstripe, and arching aft decks. Interiors are the work of Cristiano Gatto, where oversized windows allow natural light to filter through. The "innovative" saloon design sees curved bulkheads separating the lounge and dining areas and a main stairwell with atriums on all three levels. She accommodates 12 guests in five cabins, including a full-beam (nine-metre) owner's cabin forward on the main deck.

Book Ends is asking €42,000,000 with Burgess.

2020

Instantly recognisable thanks to her grey hull and distinctive crimson bootstripe, Atomic has an Espen Øino exterior and can accommodate 12 guests in six cabins with an interior by Franck Darnet Design. Ideal for diving enthusiasts, the yacht features a professional dive centre that is accessed via a folding balcony on her hull.

Atomic is asking $63,000,000 with IYC

Unbridled

One of the largest yachts in the show, Unbridled was built in aluminium by US yard Trinity Yachts to a design by Geoff Van Aller and was most recently refitted in 2019. Her interior is courtesy of Patrick Knowles and makes use of over 20 different types of wood to create intricate styling. She has large deck space on all levels and features accommodation for up to 12 guests in five cabins.

Unbridled is asking $24,950,000 with Northrop & Johnson

Double Down

Length: 65.2m

Fresh from a refit, Double Down is showing off her new look on the docks in Fort Lauderdale. Her high-volume interior comprises nine cabins, including a dedicated upper deck owner's suite with private office and deck space. The yacht also plays host to an on-board cinema suite for movie nights at sea.

Double Down is asking $31,000,000 with Worth Avenue Yachts.

Four Jacks

Length: 45.7m
Builder: Palmer Johnson
Year: 2008

Four Jacks is part of Palmer Johnson's popular PJ150 series following sisterships Hokulani and Andiamo and is defined by the same speedy capacities and great on-deck socialising spaces. She is characterised by a sporty profile, courtesy of Nuvolari Lenard, and has had only one owner since new. The Italian studio also created her rich interiors with pops of red and a host of exotic woods.

Four Jacks is asking $13,900,000 with Fraser.

Blue Ice

Credit: FGI Yacht Group

Length: 41.2m
Builder: Baglietto
Year: 1999

Blue Ice was built by Italian yard Baglietto in 1999 and her Aldo Cichero design is sure to turn heads in Fort Lauderdale, just as it did the year she was launched. Blue Ice was the recipient of a multi-million-dollar refit in 2016, where she received her jet black exterior makeover, and offers accommodation for 10 guests across five cabins.

Blue Ice is asking $4,299,000 with FGI Yacht Group.

Helios 2

Length: 51.1m
Builder: Palmer Johnson
Year: 2002

Traditional interior styling by Patrick Knowles Designs and expert design by Sparkman & Stephens come together on Helios 2, a yacht that has been well-kept by the owner and captain under a "thorough maintenance plan". She accommodates 10 guests across five cabins, including a full-beam owner’s suite found on the main deck. One of the yacht's highlights is her spectacular sundeck – fitted with a hexagonal Jacuzzi and sunpads bordering it. There’s plenty of space aft to soak up the sun, but awnings can be extended for those seeking shade.

Helios 2 is asking $15,900,000 with Edmiston.

Impressively, she can accommodate as many as 20 guests across seven cabins, making her the ultimate boat for large family gatherings.
