This weekend (May 13-15) saw the hotly anticipated World Superyacht Awards 2016 take place. Located for the first time in Florence, Italy, the weekend-long celebration of the yachting industry's finest creations kicked off with a welcome cocktail party sponsored by Stefano Ricci at the beautiful Uffizi Gallery - home to some of Florence's finest artworks.

The Cultural Programme

Saturday saw World Superyacht Awards guests and judges enjoy some of Florence's top cultural highlights before the evening's awards ceremony. Some of Italy's most famous shipyards threw open their doors for guided tours while Stefano Ricci, Temple St. Clair and Antinori offered guests the chance to sample Florence's finest fashion, jewellery and wine.

Saturday evening saw the main event - the World Superyacht Awards ceremony - take place at the magnificent Palazzo Vecchio right in the heart of Florence. Guests gathered for drinks and a delicious dinner before the winners of the much coveted Neptune trophies were announced.

The evening's presenter, Spanish model, actress, presenter and spokeswoman Inés Sastre, takes to the stage to begin the ceremony.

The Afterparty

After the ceremony, guests carried on the festivities at a lively afterparty sponsored by Centtrip at the Palazzo Vecchio and Salone dei Cinquecento. With everyone in high spirits, the dancefloor quickly filled and celebrations continued until the small hours.

The Sunday Brunch

The sun shone on the final day as guests headed into the Tuscan countryside for a leisurely brunch at the stunning Antinori vineyard. Traditional Italian fare was matched with Antinori's fine wines at this relaxing event held in association with Baldi Home Jewels. For those wishing to take in the full beauty of the vineyard, Finmeccanica Helicopters were also on hand to offer scenic flights over the Chianti Valley.
