Ulysse Nardin Grand Deck Marine Tourbillon
The Grand Deck Marine Tourbillon may not be the first Ulysse Nardin watch to be inspired by the world of yachting but it may just be the most special. Unveiled at Baselworld 2016, this innovative timepiece uses a series of Dyneema fibre nanowires identical to those used in ship rigging to pull the retrograde minute hand along a blue minute counter in a movement reminiscent of a sailing yacht's boom. Meanwhile, the hour display resembles a more traditional date window and is set into the unusual face designed to look like classic teak decking. The 60-minute flying tourbillon which finishes off this whimsical watch is really just the icing on the cake.
