Jacques Pierrejean

History

Founded by Jacques Pierrejean in 1970s, superyacht designers Pierrejean Design Studio initially made their name in the aviation field, designing aircraft interiors for both commercial clients and for private clients such as Heads of State – including French premier Jacques Chirac and former Italian prime minister Silvio Berlusconi.

For many years, Pierrejean Design Studio yachts were mainly sailing superyachts and included several of the most famous yachts of their day. More recently, the studio has diversified not only into motor yachts, but also into yacht exterior design including some innovative takes on traditional yacht styling.

Notable yachts

Having worked extensively on interiors, particularly on sailing yachts, there are many well known Pierrejean Design Studio superyachts including Friday Star and 75.1 metre Phocea – the world’s largest sailing yacht from her launch in 1976 until Athena in 2004. More recently, the Swift 141 metre project Yas, built by Abu Dhabi Mar, and her 135 metre sistership Swift 135 both feature Pierrejean Design exterior styling and interior design.

Specialisations

The Pierrejean Design studio is also active in aircraft interior design, and alongside private jet clients the team has also designed for commercial airlines such as Emirates, Lufthansa, Cathay and Etihad, particularly for the business and first class cabins.
