Weaver Boatworks offers a line of luxury sportfishing boats for serious anglers looking for a vessel offering both the range and the creature comforts of a standard yacht. Based in Tracys Landing, Maryland, the company’s line ranges from 18 to 24 metres.
Weaver Boatworks found its genesis in Jim Weaver’s love of sportfishing, which began in the early 1980s, and his wife’s long family tradition of boat building. The couple officially launched Weaver Boat Works in 1998.
The company’s first project was Dream Weaver, a Weaver family-owned boat. Once completed, Weaver Boat Works was born. Slowly but steadily, it has attracted a following that stretches beyond its home base in Maryland.
In 2014, Weaver Boatworks launched the 24.5-metre Weaver 80 Escapade, built in cold-moulded wood with a hullform designed by Donald L. Blount. Twin 2,600-horsepower MTU M94 engines give her a maximum speed of 45 knots.
The Weaver 85 Mantra, which launched in 2013, already has fished in the Indian Ocean and the Seychelles.
Weaver is a small-volume luxury yacht builder focussing on attention to detail, as well as quality fit-and-finish and solid construction.
