The 53rd installment of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show promises to be a huge success. Organisers will spice up the event, boatbuilders are readying their launches for display and owners are dreaming of their next yacht.

A plethora of the year’s most noteworthy launches will be presented, including Delta’s 50 metre Arianna and the first Ocean Alexander 120, built at Christensen. Princess Yachts’ flagship Imperial Princess, its first 40m, will make her US debut, as will Horizon Yachts’ new tri-deck 45 metre.

A military jet fly-over opens the show on VIP day, and a fireworks display will close out Friday night. Lounges and bars will also be kept open an hour after the show closes each day to keep the celebrations going.

Benetti 61m

Diamonds are Forever yacht

61m Benetti Diamonds are Forever, which was built by an American owner in Italy

Sparkle trumps speed in John Staluppi’s latest James Bond-themed yacht. Diamonds Are Forever wowed during her debut in Miami and will flaunt her bejeweled, art deco interior by Evan K Marshall and her striking exterior lines again in Fort Lauderdale. Her split-level VIP suite matches the spaciousness of the master suite, and the dining area on the aft sundeck can convert to a helipad.
