Fort Lauderdale Preview Part 3

Here is the third part of our Fort Lauderdale Boat Show preview. A plethora of the year’s most noteworthy launches will be presented, including Delta’s 50 metre Arianna and the first Ocean Alexander 120, built at Christensen. Princess Yachts’ flagship Imperial Princess, its first 40m, will make her US debut, as will Horizon Yachts’ new tri-deck 45 metre.

Sanlorenzo SL94 yacht

This Italian speedster debuted in Miami, and she’s sure to impress here. She tops out at nearly 30 knots while providing a stable ride thanks to her stiff hull and fin stabilisers, which also provide stability at anchor. This hull No.2 features a ZF joystick control for easy handling. Designer Marty A Lowe describes her simple but luxe interior motif as ‘livable luxury’. Sanlorenzo will also have the SL104 and SL72 at the show.

The Mangusta 165

Overmarine brings its popular 50m flagship to the US for the first time for the show. The seventh hull of the Stefano Righini-designed sports boat shares the sporty profile and comfortable interior of her predecessors. Reaching top speeds of 40 knots, her builder claims that she’s the fastest maxi open yacht built in fibreglass plying the waters today.

Without doubt the highlight of your visit will be a trip to the ShowBoats magazine booth (booth 620 on at F Dock at Bahia Mar), where you will be plied with Champagne, truffles, lark’s tongues and plover’s eggs, showered with expensive gifts, encouraged to lounge about on the Editor’s chaise-longue, and… What?
