New editorial appointments at Boat International Media

29 April 2014

With new investors on board since the beginning of this year, Boat International Media is pleased to announce the first of a number of new initiatives in 2014.

Boat International hires Sacha Bonsor as Editorial Director

Sacha Bonsor joins Boat International from Harper’s Bazaar, where she was Digital and Development Editor. While there, she played a pivotal role in developing the brand’s production of content across all platforms, as well as working alongside the ad sales team to create multi-platform partnership proposals.

Prior to Harper's Bazaar, Sacha was Editor of The Times’ high end fashion and lifestyle magazine LUXX, where she transformed it from a quarterly supplement to a monthly magazine and daily digital presence.

Sacha has extensive experience as an editor, journalist and digital strategist. She began her career in broadcast journalism at the BBC before moving to New York where she worked for several years.

Sacha Bonsor says: "I am delighted to be joining the team at Boat International, where I hope to help take the brand into an even brighter future."

Tony Harris, CEO of Boat International Media, comments, “It is testament to the strength of Boat International that we have managed to attract an internationally acclaimed editor with Sacha’s credentials to steer our key brand as we distribute our content across all platforms. Sacha will be in charge of all aspects of Boat International‘s content strategy and will work very closely with the experienced team here to grow Boat International into one of the world’s leading luxury media brands.”

Stewart Campbell appointed editor of Boat International magazine

Stewart Campbell is the new editor of Boat International, the flagship superyacht magazine owned by Boat International Media. Stewart joins Boat International with a background in international journalism. In the last decade he has worked at IPC  Media on Motor Boat Monthly and most recently as deputy editor of Motor Boat & Yachting. Stewart’s key focus at Boat International Media will be maintaining our steady flow of world exclusive boat features, continuing to develop a cross-platform approach to how we deliver our key content to our readers.

Stewart Campbell says, “I'm enormously excited to be joining Boat International, the world's biggest and best superyacht magazine. I can't wait to get started in the job of editor, with a new investment team behind it; it's a really interesting time to be joining the magazine, with big plans in place for extra content and better features helping to make Boat International an unmissable read”.

Tony Harris also thanked the current editor, Tim Thomas, who is leaving at the end of this month. “Tim has decided to get back to his first love, writing. As an experienced and knowledgeable sailor Tim has always been a valuable asset to the editorial team at Boat International and he will be writing exclusively for us in the future. We wish him well with the next stage of his writing career.”
