3 December 2021 • Written by Malcolm Maclean

The 36 metre classic Burger motor yacht Inevitable, listed for sale by Pete Woods at Woods & Associates, has been sold with the buyer introduced by Jonathan Chapman of Worth Avenue Yachts.

Built in aluminium by US yard Burger to a design by Jack Hargrave, she was delivered in 1985 with many upgrades since, including a substantial refit in 2015. The refit included new Caterpillar C32 engines and ZF transmissions. At the same time, the bottom was sandblasted to bare aluminum and a new barrier coat and antifouling system were applied.

Inevitable was asking $3,150,000

The interior by Patrick Knowles in high gloss teak joinery throughout accommodates eight guests in three cabins consisting of a master suite with port and starboard twins, each with a Pullman berth, and all cabins have television screens and en-suite bathroom facilities.

The saloon is an excellent space to unwind, with a lounge area featuring comfortable seating, a custom wet bar and an entertainment centre including a 48-inch television screen. Forward is a formal dining area with seating for eight guests.

Deck spaces are extensive and feature walk-around teak decks that lead to a large foredeck with guest seating. The aft deck can host up to 10 guests for al fresco dining while the flybridge has a barbecue, sun pads, guest seating and an outdoor helm station. The large cockpit has teak decks and is an ideal space for guests to relax or to store water sports gear.

Twin 1,600hp Caterpillar diesel engines give her a cruising speed of 14 knots and a range of 1,500 nautical miles.

Inevitable was asking $3,150,000.
