by Malcolm Maclean
The 28 metre motor yacht Chini V, listed for sale by Jeroen Van der Vliet at Van der Vliet Quality Yachts, is sold with Dolphin Yachts in Spain introducing the buyer.
Built in steel by Dutch yard Cammenga to a design by William de Vries Lentsch, she was delivered in 1972 as one of the yard's Pacific Class 85 series of motor yachts and was refitted in 2000 and 2014. Both the hull and the superstructure are in steel and she has teak decks. She is one of six Pacific 85 models built by the now-defunct Cammenga yard and has proven oceangoing capabilities.
She has always been well looked after and was an excellent opportunity to acquire a real gentleman’s yacht with a first class pedigree in this size range that will appeal to the discerning yachtsmen who is looking for a solid, long range classic yacht.
Accommodation is for eight guests in four cabins. These consist of a VIP cabin on the main deck while below lie a master suite, a double and a twin and all cabins have en suite facilities. Twin 172hp Gardner engines give her a range of 3,000 nautical miles at her cruising speed of 9.5 knots.
She is a fine example of a proven timeless solid yacht built in the Netherlands. Her volume and practical layout makes her an ideal family yacht to cruise in style and elegance. The huge bridge deck has generous relaxation and al fresco dining areas, as does the shaded aft deck.
Lying in Spain,Chini V was asking €985,000 with VAT paid.
