Lee Marine in Phuket has signed a contract with Italian yard Cantiere delle Marche to build a new 31 metre explorer motor yacht.

This will be the fifth in the yard’s line of Darwin Class 102’ motor yachts and comes just a month after the launch of the second yacht in the series, Babbo. Due for delivery in 2018 to a Malaysian buyer, the new owner will use her extensively to cruise the islands of the Indian Ocean and indulge in his family’s passion for scuba diving.

The fifth CdM Darwin Class 102 has been sold

Designed by Hydro Tec and to be built in steel and aluminium, she will accommodate eight guests in four cabins including a master suite on the main deck while below deck a double full beam cabin can be turned into two VIP suites and all cabins will have en suite bathroom facilities.

Notwithstanding the fact that this is an explorer yacht, the saloon of the fifth Darwin 102 hull will be designed for complete relaxation, incorporating a cinema. Other features include an aluminium tender capable of 45 knots and a custom diving station on the lazarette with a Nitrox dive compressor.

Vasco Buonpensiere, Sales & Marketing Director for the shipyard, comments: ”In addition to the satisfaction of having sold one of our explorer yachts in an exotic country like Malaysia, we are thrilled to have found a ship owner who embodies 100% the Darwin Class spirit: not only an experienced and excellent diver but also a passionate adventurer in search of wrecks and marine relics.”
