Hakvoort river barge Tigre D’Or sold

The 29.75 metre river barge Tigre D’Or has been sold with Burgess representing the seller and Peter Insull’s Yacht Marketing introducing the buyer.

Built in steel by Dutch yard Hakvoort, she was delivered in 2004, combining the tranquillity of a traditional river barge with the facilities of a fine motor yacht. She went on to win an award for the best power yacht from 23 metres to 32 metres at the 2015 International Superyacht Society Awards. Featuring a contemporary interior by H2 Design, she offers a full width master suite with en suite bathroom and a further two en suite twin cabins, one of which converts into an office area. There is also accommodation for four crew members.

The cosy lounge area has comfortable seating and an entertainment centre including a pop up flatscreen television set while outdoors there are elegant seating areas, teak decks and a Jacuzzi.

Peter Insull said that it was a joy being involved in the acquisition of a yacht which enjoys many special features and which was built for a very experienced yachtsman.  “Here at Insull’s we have been fortunate to have been involved with many major yacht projects, both in brokerage and new build consultancy, notably the sale of the 75 meter Leander and the contracting of the 96 meter Vertigo project at Feadship. I really enjoy the association of a yacht that is outside of the norm which offers something different. Tigre D’Or ticks all the boxes for me.”

The new owner is the famous British yachtsman, Peter De Savary. Under the new name of Savvy, the barge will cruise extensively on canals and rivers throughout Europe.
