17 May 2018 • Written by Malcolm MacLean

The 29 metre sailing yacht Scorpione dei Mari, listed for sale by Marc Händle at Ocean Independence, has been sold with the buyer introduced by Ann Avery at Northrop & Johnson.

Scorpione dei Mari was built in aluminium by Dutch yard Jongert in 2005 to a Tony Castro design and is a proven regatta winner. Accommodation on board is for up to seven guests and she comes complete with a full racing and cruising sail inventory. Scorpione dei Mari has been well maintained throughout her history; she received a full paint job in 2011 and now benefits from brand new sails and spare parts.

Scorpione dei Mari was asking €3,750,000

On board Scorpione dei Mari handling is made easy, even with a small crew, due to her configuration with a Hall Spars carbon mast, Park Avenue carbon boom, lazy jack slab reefing, PBO rigging for the inner forestay and backstay, and Harken carbon racing winches, including a captive winch for the mainsheet. Her performance is enhanced by a Trim-Tap, a composite rudder and a sophisticated anchor system that contributes to her light weight. The yacht can be sailed from the double steering position behind the cockpit, which also gives easy access to the stern swim platform. All cruising functions are also comfortably controlled from the navigation area in the inside cockpit, giving 360-degree visibility across the entire yacht.

Scorpione dei Mari was asking €3,750,000 with VAT paid.
