Limassol Marina in Cyprus opens for superyachts

Limassol Marina, on Cyprus’ south coast, is now open for business and beginning to attract some serious superyachts.

Officially opened this summer, and run by Camper & Nicholsons Marinas, Limassol Marina is one of the largest and most prestigious in the eastern Mediterranean, combining high-end waterside properties with berths for yachts up to 115m in length.

The marina facilities are now complete, as are some of the properties, although the remaining properties, as well as the 54 shops and 12 restaurants planned, will not fully open until Spring 2014.

The new marina boasts a capacity of 650 berths for yachts up to 115 metres in length, a heli-pad, and is the first full-service superyacht marina on the island. Cyprus tourism minister George Lakkotrypis, on his first official visit to the marina, said, 'It is really an impressive project, a real gem, both for Limassol and for Cyprus.'

Designed in association with Atelier Xavier Bohl, and costing an estimated €350 million to build, the new Limassol Marina is within walking distance of the historic town and offers access to the numerous historic and cultural sites Cyprus has to offer.

With the coasts of Turkey, Lebanon, Israel and Egypt easily accessible, and the Greek Islands just a short hop away, Limassol offers a prestigious base in the eastern Med, less than an hour’s drive from both Pafos and Larnaca international airports. It also offers a convenient stopping-off point for yachts travelling to and from the middle-east.
