Mulder Shipyard starts the construction of a second yard

3 December 2010 • Written by Raphael Montigneaux

Mulder Shipyard announces the beginning of the construction of a new facility in Zoeterwoude Rijndijk, Netherlands. Not far from the current one, this new yard will cover an area of 7,000m² to accommodate yachts between 18 and 40 metres.

The new site will cover various activities like maintenances, refits and new constructions. Its large area will solve problems of storage, moving and launching large yachts, increase the productivity and open the company to the superyacht market.

The building will include two drydocks of 55m by 13m, a construction hall for four yachts up to 30m, various work floors and storages, a modern office area and a 100-tonne boat lift. Construction will begin in early 2011, and should be ready to start operations in 2012, with some expected first launches in 2013.

The current yard in Voorschoten will be dedicated to the maintenance, storage and construction of yachts under 18 metres. This facility will continue the construction of the Mulder Favorite and the Bellagio.
