A new construction 55 metre Amels motor yacht, one of the yard’s 180 Limited Editions, has been sold with Jonathan Zwaans at Y.CO introducing the buyer.

To be built in steel and aluminium with exterior design by Tim Heywood and an interior by Laura Sessa, she is the latest hull in the Amels Limited Edition series announced at the 2005 Monaco Yacht Show exactly 10 years ago, and marks 28 sales so far in the series.

An extended version of the 177 model, she offers an enlarged sun deck which is now 25 metres long and has 155 square meters of relaxation space. The sun deck also accommodates a touch-and-go helipad, which becomes part of the guest area when not in use.

Jonathan Zwaans at Y.CO comments: “I would like to thank Amels for their fantastic support and co-operation in bringing this exciting project to fruition. This is the second Amels new build project sold by us this year and we always enjoy working with the team at this world-class shipyard.”

Amels now has eight new Limited Editions projects underway and up to 1,000 people working at the yard. “Amels is on a Limited Editions roll that began 10 years ago and shows no sign of slowing down,” says Amels Managing Director Rob Luijendijk. “We’re innovating and growing. A big factor behind that is the rock solid support of our parent company, Damen Shipyards. Our clients appreciate the strength and R&D knowhow that Amels gains from being part of the Dutch family-owned international group. And in fact it was Chairman Kommer Damen’s vision that lead to the introduction of the Limited Editions concept in 2005.”
