Picchiotti sailing yacht Freedom sold

The 37.73 metre sailing yacht Freedom, listed for sale by Eric Pearson at Fraser Yachts in San Diego, has been sold.

Freedom is a custom Sparkman and Stephens design crafted by Italian shipyard Picchiotti in aluminium to ABS class with delivery in 1986 and refitted in 2004. The refit included a full paint job to her hull and spars at the McMullen & Wing yard in Auckland, New Zealand. Every electrical, mechanical and operating system was inspected, upgraded, repaired or replaced as needed. Designed for ultimate luxury afloat, her gleaming and elegant teak interiors allow comfortable space for eight guests.

Her interior includes a tall saloon with large windows on both port and starboard sides and there is a spacious master cabin plus a double and two twin guest cabins below deck, all with full en suite facilities. Recently sold sailing yacht Freedom boasts impressive racing pedigree includes having won both the St. Bart’s and Nantucket Bucket race series. Freedom has also completed a circumnavigation and a Caterpillar 402hp engine gives her a range of 1,500 nautical miles at nine knots.

Freedom was asking $3,995,000.
