Price cut on classic sailing yacht Seconda Santa Lucia
by Malcolm Maclean
Seconda Santa Lucia was built in mahogany planking on acacia cold moulded frames by Italian yard Sangermani to a design by Laurent Giles and was launched in 1965. Initially built for the famous fisherman Commander Ernesto Piletti, this canoe-stern ketch was sold to her current and passionate owner in 2012. He brought her back to Sangermani where she was entirely dismantled and rebuilt following the original plans and with the support of modern technology. Her refit being a great experience for her owner, he is already thinking of a larger project to rebuild.
She offers a classic atmosphere inside too. Situated behind the bridge, the cosy saloon offers panoramic views and is fitted with comfortable seating. Accommodation is for six guests in three cabins consisting of a full beam master suite aft and two double bunk cabins forward, all with en suite shower facilities. Crew quarters for two and the galley are forward with independent access from the foredeck.
Ketch rigged, this yacht for sale carries silver spruce masts. Her refit also included the full overhaul to zero hours of her twin 319hp Volvo Penta TAMLD 63L engines. They allow a cruising speed of 10 knots. Further equipment includes a 17kw Kohler generator, a 120l/h HRO Seafari watermaker and a new Frigomar air conditioning system.
Ready for new owners and only privately used since her refit, Seconda Santa Lucia is currently for sale and now asking €975,000.
