Further price cut on part-built Vulkan superyacht VK_1
by Malcolm MacLean
VK_1's aluminium hull and superstructure are 75 percent complete at the Vulkan yard in Valencia, Spain, while her engines and gearboxes are already installed.
Germanischer Lloyd classed and MCA compliant, her Quantum zero speed stabilisers and other equipment have been purchased and the high-volume interior can be configured to the buyer’s requirements. Currently, her accommodation is laid out as six cabins for 12 guests in a master suite, VIP suite, a double and three twins. She can, of course, be customized to suit the tastes of a new owner or be completed according to the original drawings.
Work on this yacht for sale began in 2008 but in 2013 the yard repossessed her and put the project up for sale with Bluewater. The yard itself is also listed for sale with no takers as yet.
Broker Jim Acher comments: “She is a genuine blank canvas and this is a rare opportunity to purchase a quality 42m, high volume, semi-displacement, long-range vessel that is approximately 50% complete.”
Twin 2,400hp MTU 16V 2000 M93 engines will give VK_1 a range of 4,000 nautical miles at 12 knots anf she has a volume of 423GRT. She can be either completed on site by the buyer’s preferred team or readily removed to any other yard of choice.
Available to view at the Vulkan yard, VK_1 is down from €3,395,000 to €2,990,000.
