John Cohen of Merle Wood & Associates sends word of several price reductions: Firstly, Broward’s 38m Showtime, built in 1989 and refitted in 2003, sleeping eight guests in four cabins has gone down by $1 million to $4.9 million. Then there’s Double G, another Broward at 35.96m and also accommodating eight guests, now offered at $4.995 million, a $1 million cut. Finally there’s Useless, a 30.4m Mangusta built in 1995 and refitted in 2006. ABS classed, her asking price has been cut by $500,000 to $2.495 million. Intrigued, I asked John why an owner would call his yacht Useless. John wouldn’t say, other than the fact that it’s the owner’s private joke. Suffice to say, the name is no reflection on her quality.
