Arne Ploch at Camper & Nicholsons in Palma has confirmed that his central agency, the 24.7m sailing yacht Spirit of Fitzroy, has been sold with a local broker in Australia introducing the buyer.

Built by Fitzroy Yachts to a design by Alan Warwick, she was launched in early 2000 to coincide with New Zealand’s winning defence of the America’s Cup. Her seaworthiness was proven on an extended maiden voyage from New Zealand through Suez to the Monaco Yacht Show.

Immaculately maintained, this superyacht is a truly fine example of New Zealand quality and craftsmanship. Her accommodation is equivalent to that of much larger yachts with space for 7 guests in 3 cabins. Her rigging is by Southern Spars and she has fuel storage adequate for transatlantic passage under power.

Spirit of Fitzroy will be heading back to the Southern Hemisphere, to Australia, in the near future, says Arne.
