News from Jimmy Broddesson at SuperYachtsLondon that they have sold the Palumbo 40 metre Columbus Sport Hybrid superyacht.

This is the second hull in a successful hybrid series built by Palumbo Shipyard in consultation with the RINA classification society and Siemens. The Columbus 40S Hybrid is closing on construction and will be ready to launch soon, with her delivery set for March next year. She is built to RINA standards and is Green Plus (Y) compliant.

This progressive environmentally-conscious superyacht series has won numerous awards. The first hull was awarded the 2014 ShowBoats Design Award for Interior Design, Environmental Protection and Holistic Design as well as the Union Internationale Motonautique Environmental Award.

Powered by advanced hybrid propulsion and twin diesel engines, the Columbus 40S Hybrid has a maximum speed of 22 knots with reduced environmental impact. Her cruising speed is 18 to 20 knots, but she can also cruise at 8 knots using only her gensets and electric motors.

She accommodates 10 guests in five cabins with an owner’s suite and study on the main deck. Her versatile interior was constructed using eco-friendly materials and features large windows. Her striking exterior will feature a pure white hull design, expansive deck space and various sunning arrangements.
