Tender Shipyard SAS to build new tender for superyacht Berkut

Philippe Cabon, designer of the successful Tresco range of tenders, has established a new yard specialising in tenders for superyachts.

Called Tender Shipyard SAS, it has just signed its first contract to build a new 7.4m tender for the 53m Baglietto motor yacht Berkut - the former Baraka. Using the experience gained from the design of his Tresco hulls, Cabon has come up with a more comfortable, larger and lighter carbon fibre and epoxy resin shape specifically designed for tender garages on large yachts.

The tender is equipped with a removable hydraulic hard top and standard items include, GPS, VHF, swimming ladder and removable cushions, while options include an electric bow thruster and windlass, rigid hard top, underwater lights and an ice box. Engine options include a 220hp Volvo Z drive or a 260hp Yanmar giving a maximum speed of 35 knots. The Berkut tender will be delivered at the end of January 2011.

Also currently under discussion with owners and skippers are a 7.4m limousine tender for eight to 10 passengers and a cabriolet tender for six guests and two crew.
