I call Curtis Stokes at The Sacks Group to welcome his and his colleagues’ decision to list all their central agencies on the Boat International website and he tells me an interesting story about one of his listings, the 28m Balkan 28. Built by Cantieri di Pisa in 1982 of wood, her current owners bought her as a speculative investment and, as Curtis says, “Literally stripped her down to her mahogany keel and installed brand new mechanical systems, electrics, interiors and engines.” She’s just hit the water and is currently for sale at €3.45 million, a price considerably lower than her rebuild costs. Balkan 28 accommodates eight guests in a master suite, VIP cabin and two twins.
