The ShowBoats Design Awards was launched in 2010 to judge and recognise the creative talent responsible for the individual elements of a superyacht. Aspects of the most impressive yachts launched in the preceding calendar year are scrutinised and judged by a panel of design experts.
While the World Superyacht Awards recognises superyachts in their entirety, the ShowBoats Design Awards focuses directly on the fundamental design aspects of superyacht design such as naval architecture, exterior design and interior layout, and brings the specialist design skills of the industy’s most talented teams into the spotlight.
THE CATEGORIES
Following the success of the inaugural awards in 2010 the list of categories has been adapted in consultation with owners, builders and designers, to best reflect the talents being recognised. The fifteen categories are as follows:
1. Interior Design Award – Motor Yachts
2. Interior Design Award – Sailing Yachts
3. Exterior Design and Styling Award – Motor Yachts
4. Exterior Design and Styling Award – Sailing Yachts
5. Naval Architecture Award – Motor Yachts
6. Naval Architecture Award – Sailing Yachts
7. Interior Layout Award – Motor Yachts
8. Interior Layout Award – Sailing Yachts
9. Crew & Service Areas Award
10. Recreational Area for Guest use Award
11. Tender Design Award
THE AWARDS
The Neptune trophy has become synonymous with excellence in superyacht build and design, and for the ShowBoats Design Awards the golden Neptunes have already become a symbol of pride and distinction for the industry’s design professionals.
