Tips for visiting Monaco for the World Superyacht Awards

Accessible by boat (with tender service), or by car (with limited parking) Anjuna Beach is only 15 minutes outside Monaco but feels a million miles away, with its Polynesian totems and pieds dans l’eau dining. On occasion, some guests play music (members of U2 live near by, so the experience can be well worth it).

If you crave a pizza at 3am after a long night of partying, stop in at local legend Tip Top. It’s low key and low budget, but is a firm favourite with locals and visiting glitterati, including Jenson Button, who has been spotted stopping for a snack on occassion.

Slammers Bar

Looking for the best pint in town? former F1 boss and the owner of Perini Navi sailing yacht Blush, Eddie Jordan, recommends Slammers Bar on rue Suffren Reymond. A cheap and cheerful sports bar with a lively atmosphere, locals and international visitors will stop by for draught beer, live music and a casual night out. During the Monaco Grand Prix, HSH Prince Albert unfailingly stops by for a drink or two.

Monte-Carlo Bay hotel (one of the best hotels in Monaco) has the biggest and best outdoor pool in Monaco, complete with sandy bottom. If you’re not a guest, you can pay to have a splash about and cool down during your time in the principality.

If you need to unwind after a long day on your feet exploring, a massage should help. If you've had your fill of Mediterranean fish and are looking for something else to cleanse your palate, Damian Martin, Director of Yacht Management at Edmiston reccomends Beef Bar where you can fill your Wagyu needs. Alternatively, he ventures that "La Bionda is more fun. Just back from the port, this great, not-too-expensive restaurant does an amazing BBQ-style steak on an open grill inside."

Yoga Shala Circle Monaco

If you can't go without your fitness routine while visiting the principality, book a class through Yoga Shala Circle Monaco. The company organises yoga classes, meditation courses and other holistic practices in studios around the city as well as in private homes or outdoors spaces, ans has been cited by locals as a firm favourite for Monégasque yoga bunnies. The teachers cater to all levels and also offer other activities such as pilates classes and massages.
