The Netherlands-based shipyard Amels has announced the sale of a new build Amels Limited Editions 180 superyacht.
The yacht's new owners were advised by Burgess in Monaco on the purchase of the 55m Amels superyacht, and Burgess Technical Services will serve as the owner's representative during the build.
According to the Dutch builder, the owner was motivated by the quick delivery time that the semi-custom Amels Limited Editions build offered. 'Across the industry we see delivery time as increasingly pivotal in owners’ decision-making, and this new order brokered by Burgess confirms our leadership in this regard,' says AMELS CEO Rob Luijendijk. 'Our trusted Limited Editions platform eliminates technical risk and allows the owners to focus on customising the "fun parts" ... We’re so confident that, even while they’re still reviewing design drawings, we’d encourage them to finalise their 2015 summer plans with this beautiful yacht.' Amels predicts a 16-month delivery time.
The new Amels 180 Limited Editions shares the bold exterior styling of her sisters, by UK-based designer Tim Heywood. She will feature balconies off the main deck owners' suite and two to both port and starboard off the main saloon, and the new yacht will also boast a touch-and-go helipad and an expansive beach club hosting watertoys, a steam room and swim platform with integrated stairs for easy access into the sea.
The owners have chosen designer Christian Liaigre for the yacht's interior design; this is the first time that Paris-based interior designer Liaigre will work with Amels. Accommodations will be for 12 guests and 12 crew members plus the captain.
Amels currently has nine Limited Editions superyachts in build, ranging up to the flagship 83m Amels Limited Editions 272.
