The Wild Group has completed the exterior of 68-metre superyacht motor yacht Aviva, which is the largest yacht to be wrapped using colour matched film.

Wild Group International is known for its hull wrapping using durable self-adhesive vinyls and foils, which the company says are advantageous for the ability to not fade or get damaged like gel coat paint. As approved supplier of Färben Foils and Films, Wild and Färben recently launched new tougher, stronger and glossier films designed specifically for the marine market.

Wild Group's latest wrapping was the largest one to be undertaken yet, on 68-metre Abeking & Rasmussen yacht Aviva (formerly Aviva III). Constructed in a steel hull with an aluminium superstructure, Aviva has a beam of 12.3 metres. Launched by German builder Abeking & Rasmussen in 2007 and had a refit in 2012 at Palumbo's refit facilities. The yacht is currently at the Rybovich shipyard in Florida.

The marine foils for Aviva were specially colour matched to Awlgrip's battleship grey by Färben foils and films. Aviva's captain reportedly researched multiple finishing options and chose foils and films to reduce the time it would take to finish the project. "There is a lot of interest in this job," says Aviva's Captain. "I have given three captains and two owners a tour of the work who are serious about considering wrapping for their next job...we need a quote for the complete superstructure for next year."

"I believe the new Farben foils and films offer a superior finish to what's currently on the market. We are excited to be working on this project and hope it gives confidence to other captains and owners to come forward and discover the benefits of using Färben products, too" says Greg Hoar, director of the Wild Group.
