Boat International has been given exclusive pictures of the very first Sanlorenzo 52Steel, which were taken as the superyacht emerged from its build shed in Italy. The 52 metre yacht is one of two 52Steel units currently in build at Sanlorenzo’s base in La Spezia and is expected to be launched in March.
According to the builder the new model has been created to “combine the classic Sanlorenzo design with the latest stylistic trends”. Key features include a spacious saloon with huge windows to allow plenty of natural light and a large living space and formal dining area on the upper deck. The design also features a large rectangular pool aft on the main deck as well as an expansive beach club and gym on the lower deck.
It is thought that the owner’s cabin is located forward on the main deck, with a further four guest cabins on the lower deck. According to plans there is also accommodation for nine crew.
Two Caterpillar 3512C engines will give the yacht a maximum speed of 17 knots and a range of 4,400 nautical miles when cruising at 11 knots.
The 52Steel marks another important step for the Italian builder as it looks to expand its range of steel superyachts. Last year Sanlorenzo purchased a third site – Cantieri San Marco in La Spezia – which has now been named Sanlorenzo Superyachts. As well as the two 52Steel models, two 460Exp models and the new flagship 64Steel are already in build at the new facility.
