First Horizon Yachts E98 Do It Now in-build

The first hull in the Horizon Yachts E98 series of 30 metre superyachts is in-build, the Taiwan-based yard has announced.

Hull number one, which will be called Do It Now, is scheduled to be delivered to her American owner in early 2017, Horizon Yachts added.

The Horizon E98 is one of the yachts that prove that bigger isn't always better, as John Lu, CEO of the Horizon Group, explains: “The new E98 truly fits a market that we have seen arise in the last few years — clients who are not yet ready to make the leap to 110ft (33 metre) yachts but are searching for something larger than 90ft (27 metre).”

As with its smaller sister vessel, the Horizon E88, the new 30.33 metre model features exterior styling and naval architecture by Swedish designer John Lindblom, while her sporty exterior lines reflect the performance of her fast planing hull.

A broad seven metre beam allows for voluminous interiors, with four en-suite guest cabins all situated below decks. Key features include a foredeck seating area, upper deck barbecue and crew quarters for a staff of four.

On the upper deck, both open bridge and sky lounge layouts with be made available, but Horizon Yachts added that the owner of Do It Now has specified a convertible flybridge with a fixed front windshield and removable side panels.

Many Horizon sisterships are built to be one-of-a-kind, and Do It Now follows in this tradition. Further customisation can be found in the main deck saloon, which will be extended through into the space normally occupied by the formal dining area.

Power comes from a pair of Caterpillar C32 engines for a total output of 3,800hp and a top speed of 22.5 knots. The Horizon E98 comes with 40% more tankage than the E88, which means a total fuel capacity of more than 17,000 litres.
