First Numarine 32XP explorer yacht spotted moving sheds

The first pictures of the Numarine 32XP have emerged, showing this 32.5 metre explorer yacht moving between sheds in Turkey. The yacht was sold by Numarine to a repeat client in June 2016 and as these images show, the hull is already complete and the superstructure is taking shape.

The Numarine 32XP is part of a new strategy by the Turkish builder to create explorer yachts. In March 2014 Numarine revealed its 40XP steel-hull explorer superyacht concept as the largest in the range.

According to Numarine CEO, founder and owner Omer Malaz, the striking Numarine 32XP was the result of direct client requests. Although not one of the largest explorer yachts in in the world, the 32.5 metre Can Yalman design is an “exceptional blend of size and capability,” Numarine said.

The company admits that the new move may seem “contradictory” to its original concept of delivering fast, concept yachts. ”We realised a lot clients were moving from fast planing hull yachts to displacement speed yachts where efficiency is unmatched," Omer Malaz told Boat International. "We thought, how can we improve upon this? Our answer was focusing on on board comfort, reducing vibration and noise as much as possible."

Numarine is working with Dutch company Silent Line Group to minimise noise and vibration levels with the aim of offering the comfort of a much larger superyacht in this 32 metre package. Omer Malaz said he was inspired by Steve Jobs and gave his company a very direct brief for the yacht — “I want 50 metres of comfort on a 32 metre.”

Tremendous volume was also essential to the brief and the Numarine 32XP obliges with almost 300 gross tonnes of internal space.

Aiming to give owners the opportunity to explore anywhere in the world, the 32XP has a range of 3,000 nautical miles at a speed of 12 knots. The 32XP features a composite superstructure and steel hull, and will be fitted with a pair of 715hp CAT C18 engines.

The Numarine 32XP has accommodation for 12 guests, including a full-width owners cabin, and plenty of entertainment areas. Three crew cabins provide space for a staff of five.

Numarine’s explorer range also incudes a smaller 24XP design, which was sold in May 2016. The 25.2 metre explorer yacht has been designed to offer the same adventurous opportunities but in a scaled-down size.

Malaz added that it is more experienced owners — those on their third or fourth yacht — that are being attracted to its explorer offerings, a point which is backed up by the sale of the 32XP. The yard will still continue to build its sports boat range, having launched two new Numarine 105HT sport yachts in September 2016.
