Gigayacht Eclipse delivered

13 December 2010 • Written by Raphael Montigneaux

We were the first to publish the news about the delivery of the 162.5m motor yacht Eclipse on Friday afternoon. The yacht left the Blohm & Voss yard at noon under the German flag and was under way to Kristiansand, Norway to be delivered.

Now flying her official Bermudian flag, the gigayacht left the Norwegian refuelling station on Saturday. The beautiful picture which illustrates these words was taken then. She crossed the English Channel yesterday and is now sailing the Atlantic Ocean at an impressive cruising speed of 20 knots.

Her destination is for the moment Las Palmas, Canary Islands. She should reach the Spanish islands after tomorrow, an undoubtable stop before a crossing to the Caribbean.
