Dutch superyacht support vessel specialist Lynx Yachts has announced that is has acquired a new facility in Nijerk.

Situated less than 50 miles from Amsterdam Schipol Airport, the new yard was opened last month and boasts a quay length of 70 metres. It also has the capacity to build up to three yachts simultaneously.

Lynx Yachts was founded in 2011 in the Netherlands

Slim Bouricha, founder and president of Lynx Yachts, said: “We are dedicated to becoming the Dutch builder of choice for not just custom yachts between 30 and 50 metres, but also innovative yacht support vessels with our YXT range. Moving to our new production facility in Nijkerk is just one more milestone in our journey."

Founded in 2011, Lynx Yachts launched the 33.5 metre Heliad II in 2013 and followed that up last year with the first hull in the YXT 20 series of aluminium shadow boats.

Filippo Rossi, sales and marketing manager for the yard, added: “The new production facility is part of our continuous effort to deliver value to our clients. This move signals that we are really shifting up a gear, having had an overwhelmingly positive response from the market to the yard's commercial activities.”

Among the yard’s expansion plans are designs for YXT models measuring up to 36 metres as well as steel and aluminium displacement motor yachts measuring up to 50 metres.

“We want to create a whole new way of yachting and build yachts that will stand the test of time," Bouricha continued. "The attention to detail that goes into every aspect of our builds is unparalleled. As a result, these are legacy projects; yachts that will truly be the custodians of the next generation."
