Megaway 128 launched in Singapore

Megaway Engineering & Trading, a company founded in 1986 and previously known for its marine and offshore engineering activities, launched its first superyacht, the Megaway 128, on 27 December 2011 at its yard in Singapore.

It is actually only the eighth superyacht to be built by a Singaporean yard, but unlike the previous seven the entire project, starting from the initial concept, was done by the yard's in-house team.

The Megaway 128 is a 39 metre tri-deck motor yacht built in steel and aluminium and Bureau Veritas classed.

Her interior is by Monica Gunawan from the yard's in-house design team. Accommodation is for 12 guests in 6 cabins including a master on the main deck, while three double and two twin cabins are located on the lower deck.

On the technical side, it is is powered by twin 1,500hp MTU engines giving a top speed of 18 knots with a range of 5,000 nautical miles cruising at 15 knots.

The Megaway 128 is scheduled to start sea trials imminently to be ready for delivery in early 2012. The yacht is currently for sale through Northrop & Jonhson asking $10 million.
